Ben Stace
Marlborough District Council 2025
Vote Ben for a better Blenheim
A fresh perspective for the council table
I am standing to offer a fresh, practical, and forward-looking voice for our community's future. The Council faces significant challenges that demand a practical, but aspirational, long-term direction.
With a career spanning council assets and over a decade in Architectural Design, I possess a unique understanding of the workings of council, along with the challenges and opportunities before us. I bring vision, a proven ability to achieve goals, and a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility.
Marlborough is a remarkable place with immense potential. I am particularly passionate about revitalising our CBD to create a thriving and enjoyable hub for Marlborough. We have the natural and human resources to achieve this, but we need a shared direction.
I am here to listen to you, to be your voice on the Council, and to collaborate on developing lasting solutions for our community.
Vote Ben for a Better Blenheim!
Who am I ?
Born and bred here, I am a proud 5th-generation Marlburian, and grew up on a sheep and beef farm before leaving to study and see some of the world. I never intended to return home at that stage, but luckily, fate stepped in with a family emergency and a job offer. I’m now so glad I decided to stay.
There’s nowhere like Marlborough, the landscapes, lifestyle and the people really are amazing.
Over the years, I’ve worked at Council in the Assets and Services Department, and then as an Architectural Designer for a few years before opening my own firm Design Marlborough Architecture in 2018.
Over the years, I’ve helped hundreds of clients realise their dreams, which has been challenging and rewarding at the same time. I feel the skills I’ve refined in these projects lead well into helping set the course at the Council table.
I was recently married to the amazing Alex. In our spare time, we enjoy many activities, from Biking to Golf, and really enjoy exploring Marlborough with our dog Salvador.
Why vote
for me?
I want to see more of Marlborough’s incredible potential realised. If you feel the same, a vote for me is a vote for this overriding aspiration.
With my experience within and outside of council, I possess a unique understanding of how council operates, as well as how it is to deal with as a member of the public.
My Architectural work parallels the functions of a councillor remarkably well. From being able to listen to problems, to collaborating on solutions, to working through the practicalities and costs of these.
I bring vision, a proven ability to achieve goals, and a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility. A vote for me is a vote for considered decision-making, with Marlborough and Marlburians’ best interests front of mind.
Vote for a better Blenheim—vote for Ben.
